Join the Movement: Familial Forestry is more than just an afforestation and restoration initiative; it’s a community-centered intervention that has profoundly transformed the vast terrains of north-western Rajasthan. Spearheaded by Professor ShyamSunder Jyani, a UN’s Land For Life award laureate academic , this initiative has been sustained by his salary as a college teacher and the voluntary efforts of desert dwellers. Occasionally, close friends have provided support when Professor Jyani’s personal funds were exhausted. After two decades of relentless dedication, Professor Jyani decided to transform Familial Forestry into a more sustained and systematic climate action, establishing the Center For Familial Forestry in December 2022, registered under the Registration Act of 1908. To scale up this transformative movement and ensure its sustainability, we are launching our first-ever crowdfunding campaign on August 15th, 2024 (Indian Independence Day).
